#: src/menus/view/zoom.xml:161(para)
msgid ""
"This command zooms the image so that the selection fills the smallest "
"dimension of the image."
in
menus/view.po
I would have written:
"This command zooms the image such as all the selection is visible."
or
"This command zooms the image such as all the selection is visible" "occupying the most part of the screen."
or
"This command zooms the image such as all the selection is visible" "fitting all the screen."
but my English is not so good so I could be wrong of course.

Just guessing, but perhaps
"This command zooms the image so that the selection fills the screen."
?

Yes, even better and simpler. Thanks.
Can we use this instead of:
#: src/menus/view/zoom.xml:161(para)
msgid ""
"This command zooms the image so that the selection fills the smallest "
"dimension of the image."
?

I don't see why not, but I'd feel safer if someone else verified this also.
:)
I'm still getting my feet wet with the docs stuff.

Hello,
What do you mean by "screen" ?
How do you describe the results in the attached file?

Hi Julien!
I see your point... lets say "image window"
"This command zooms the image so that the selection fills the image window."

can someone clarify me this?
Hi Marco,
I return to my first idea: the image window can be bigger than the image and we have "Fit image to window".
The name "Zoom to selection" is rather weird. It should be "Fit selection to image".
Unless there is sometthing I have not understood.
All the best,
Julien

You probably missed that the original message is this:
#: src/menus/view/zoom.xml:161(para) msgid ""
"This command zooms the image so that the selection fills the smallest " "dimension of the image."
"smallest"?
Anyway IMHO this is wrong.
