Any interested collaborators?
This discussion is connected to the gimp-developer-list.gnome.org mailing list which is provided by the GIMP developers and not related to gimpusers.com.
This is a read-only list on gimpusers.com so this discussion thread is read-only, too.

that looks indeed like a very nice addition. There is a similar

When you know what you want and where to find it (shortcut, menu,
etc.), this kind of menu is not the most efficient; but when you are
not sure, this is a great way to discover a software features through
keywords.
And if it can be made contextual too (depending on the position of the
pointer, or if you have selections, etc.), that would be also cool. In
other words, I like it. I will have a look, hopefully in the next few
days.
That would be nice to have a feature request on the GIMP bugtracker though (with a copy paste of the main explanation and a link to this same web page, it should be enough). This way, I can keep an eye on this and not forget. Would you mind making one? This is only because if everyone who had a good feature was to use only one's own tool, it would be impossible to keep track of all of them. This is better to always come back to the official tracker as "main point". I hope you understand.
Thanks and nice one!

I've done this here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=708174 I'm not sure if this is sufficient. Let me know if I need to change anything.

I agree with you on that one. He could have done a better presentation by email.

The linked page states that the feature has been discussed on IRC and Mitch (maintainer of GIMP) already gave his green light (of course it could be a lie, but I think such a huge one would be spotted sooner or later). And me, as another (minor) GIMP developer, asked him consequently to open a feature request. So I think that is enough for this to happen. :-)

Well, Tito has been discussed a few times on the gimp developer mailing
list.
In fact, here is your opinion on it:
https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-developer-list/2012-March/msg00225.html
Before I blogged this, I did go on IRC, post the link and ask Mitch if it
was ok that I mentioned him.
He said it was ok.
My understanding from the IRC conversation over a year ago was that with a
few changes, Tito could go in.
These are some issues I created as a result of that conversation:
https://github.com/ssrihari/gimp-tito/issues.
I don't think I misunderstood mitch, but it'll be great if we can get his
opinion on it now.

Sorry about my lazy one liner :)
I had assumed familiarity with Tito since it had been discussed here in the
past.
I'll keep that in mind for the next time.

Thanks to those who provided links about the past discussions. Yes, I remember the topic. When I saw the message with just a URL in it I hit the delete button without clicking the URL.
