classic.gimp.org: still somewhere accessible and needed?

Hi,

first of all thank you to those who maintained the gimp.org website in the past and still maintain it in the present. I was checking bug #667048 [1] and found the link to classic.gimp.org is dead, indeed. My attempts to find it anywhere or gather more information failed. Is the classic.gimp.org site still anywhere around and its information needed for the current work or can the link be removed from the team website [2]?

Thank you in advance and kind regards,

Sven
