Building gimp for Mac OS X Lion using Homebrew

I am trying to build using Homebrew on Mac OS X Lion (instead of MacPorts)

I have installed the required dependencies as per INSTALL, and am following the directions at
http://www.chromecode.com/2009/12/best-way-to-keep-up-with-gimp-from-git_26.html

Build log below:

---- start of build log --- $ ./autogen.sh --prefix=$PREFIX --disable-gtk-doc

I am testing that you have the tools required to build the GNU Image Manipulation Program from git. This test is not foolproof, so if anything goes wrong, see the file HACKING for more information...

-n checking for libtool >= 1.5 ... Major version might be too new (2.4.2) skipping test for gtkdocize
-n checking for autoconf >= 2.54 ... yes (version 2.69)
-n checking for automake >= 1.10.0 ... yes (version 1.12.3)
-n checking for intltool >= 0.40.1 ... yes (version 0.50.2)
-n checking for xsltproc ...
yes

I am going to run ./configure with the following arguments:

--prefix=/Users/sanket/Documents/gimp-git --disable-gtk-doc

glibtoolize: putting auxiliary files in `.'. glibtoolize: linking file `./ltmain.sh' glibtoolize: putting macros in AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR, `m4macros'. glibtoolize: linking file `m4macros/libtool.m4' glibtoolize: linking file `m4macros/ltoptions.m4' glibtoolize: linking file `m4macros/ltsugar.m4' glibtoolize: linking file `m4macros/ltversion.m4' glibtoolize: linking file `m4macros/lt~obsolete.m4' WARNING: You have disabled gtk-doc.

configure: error: GNU gettext tools not found; required for intltool

Configure failed or did not finish! --------- End of build log ---
$ brew install gettext
Error: gettext-0.18.1.1 already installed -----
I have exported the following to make sure the system gets the right version of gettext with no avail:
export LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/opt/gettext/lib:\$LDFLAGS" export CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/opt/gettext/include:\$CPPFLAGS"

Any suggestions are much appreciated.
