Gimp 2.8.0 - Saving in .jpg or .png hmmmmm

I can see that my Gimp Overlords have also decided to gnomify Gimp.

I think that was a good move. We need to treat all users as potential idiots.

This is getting old. All they gotta do is go use some other FREE graphics application.

Yeah, that's the standard "if you don't like it, you should probably be using babysfirsteditor instead" response to this issue.

Gimp is free, sure, and nobody can _demand_ the devs do this or that or whatever. Still, the idea that users who don't agree about this single issue are by definition "not suited for the gimp" seems pretty churlish.

I am a professional graphic designer and I am thrilled that I no longer have to confirm 3 different dialog windows every time I go to export a flat or compressed rendition of the very complex, multi-layer images that I regularly construct in Gimp.

No doubt, and it's good that gimp supports such usage, and maybe even good that it defaults to it -- but would _also_ be good if it conveniently supported users who want to use other workflows.
