are curves broken?

Hello,

two weeks ago I realized that curves don't work as before, and I submitted following bug report:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643155

am I doing something wrong, or am I the only person who is using curves this way?

I tested following builds:

gimp-git-20110216-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz gimp-git-20110221-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
gimp-git-20110222-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
gimp-git-20110224-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
gimp-git-20110301-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
gimp-git-20110309-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
gimp-git-20110311-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz

and I always back to 02.16 because it was the last one which works correctly

My 2.7 built from a git-clone on March 3 works OK and I can use the color picker in the Curves tool without problems.

Running a Kubuntu 10.04 with auto-updates.

I tried it under KDE and I think I know why it works for you.

Could you try:

1) open photo on full screen, then open curves editor, then click on photo? 2) enable single window mode in gimp, then open curves editor, then click on photo?

in both scenarios the curves window disappears under photo window

The way to make it work is to open curves window in the other area then photo window, it may work if you have huge screen and you don't like full screen photo.

In version from 02.16 it works correctly, in later builds it hides curve window in KDE/wmaker/icewm and it does something different with it in xfce4.

Once you have used full-screen mode curves, yes, the curves dialogue is broken thereafter if you leave full-screen mode.

Both the on-screen canvas mode and single-window-mode are features "in progress". (I think the curves breakage is not related to single window mode, but I am not certain)

I used curves this way always, since very old version of Gimp. I open photo and then I open curves window which is in front of photo. I don't mean single window mode, just put curves window in front of photo window.

OK. Is this in full-screen mode? If you do not use full-screen mode at all, do you still have problems with curves? I.e. start gimp, and never use full-screen mode.

Maybe we are having different problems?
