Hi!

I don't know if it's related to the GTK theme or something else, but having a button with "?" on it, to choose the dynamics mode is somehow strange (see http://sites.google.com/site/naoliv/gimp/1.png). It looks something like a help button.
If we look at the mode for pencil, for example (http://sites.google.com/site/naoliv/gimp/2.png), we can see that it's a drop-down menu (and not a "help" button). Couldn't we have the dynamics mode like this too? http://sites.google.com/site/naoliv/gimp/3.png seems much better and intuitive.

That is obviously a place-holder. It is meant as an invitation for someone to volunteer to draw a better icon.

Making good default icon is important. But please remember that it is more important to allow users define their own custom icons for each dynamics separately (like icons of the brush resourse in MyPaint.) Users make their own dynamics and distinguish them by its icons. 2011/02/04 7:24 "Sven Neumann" :

Letting users define their own is the general plan for both dynamics and tool presets.
