Layer Mode: Alpha

Hi,

what I would like to have is something like an alphachannel layer-mode.

So that alpha-channel can be changed by another layer.

Using Layer masks might be used instead... but handling via a seperated layer with layer-mode Alpha would sometimes be very convenient.

What do you think of this idea?
