I am working on a djvu(read/write) plugin for gimp , i hav put a working read part of the plugin in the plugin registry. Can it be put into the core , are new file plugins being accepted.??

I never heard of the format before, but after reading about it on Wikipedia I'd say this is a format we would want GIMP to handle. I suggest you file a bug report and attach patches there.
