gimp shouldn´t save if no chang es were made( trivial idea )

Hi, I was advised to post these kind of ideas to developer mailing lists, so here I am.

What if you save to a USB thumb drive, remove the thumb drive, then insert another one?

Or what if you accidentally remove the file in the file manager after saving?

Several other programs I use have this feature, but I think it's a mistake. You can tell from the * in the title bar whether the image is "dirty" or not.
