I've received this by email:

Your mail to 'SVN-commits-list' with the subject

[gimp-help-2] 2009-04-27 Marco Ciampa

Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.

The reason it is being held:

Message body is too big: 551982 bytes with a limit of 512 KB

Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive notification of the moderator's decision. If you would like to cancel this posting, please visit the following URL:

svn shouldn't be switched off?

Apparently every 'svn commit' or 'git push' produces a diff which will be posted automatically to that mailinglist (so that somebody can check if you try to add malware or spam?).

My experience is that you can safely ignore or cancel this messages. The (svn or git) repository is not affected
