22 GIMP splash screens waiting for your votes!

Our first contest has just ended and the period of voting for all the submissions has started!

There were 22 submissions to our contest system, and we want to thank everyone who participated in our first contest, there are some really cool splash screens so take a look on our splash screens submissions page to see all of them! After that please help us determine the best ones by clicking the “Like” link on this page. You can like as many splash screens as your want, you can also remove these likes/votes at any time until Feb 20, 23:55 UTC. By then the votes are locked and the winners are determined.

We also want to thanks the guys and girls out there that have written about our first contest to make it public everywhere ;)

You can also post contest ideas for future contests here on gimpusers.com in the comments section below.

A small side note: We also had a contest on gimpusers.de, our German site, where we had an Out-of-bounds-contest. Have a look on the german submissions page – you can also vote there using your gimpusers.com-account (you have to log in there again with the same account details as here). Some of the submissions there are really awesome – it’s definately worth a look. Enjoy! ;)

Aww. I thought I had all month to enter one and I just made a really awsome splash screen that I wanted to enter. The submissions look nice but I have to agree with GameCreator about past splash screen looking a bit better.

Some of them are very nice looking. The rest look quite amateurish. But they still aren't as cool as the splash screens from earlier versions of GIMP. I especially liked that one with a night sky and the Moon submerged in the cloudy mist, and the one with Wilbur painting his girlfriend ;)

Wow! Awesome submissions! I wish could've joined the fantastic contest too. But looking at them, it felt great to see there's some activity in the GIMP world. Way to go, guys!
