First gimpusers.com graphics contest launched!

We’re very happy to launch our first graphics contest here on gimpusers.com!

The challenge on this first contest is to create your very own GIMP 2.8-splash screens! You can upload up to 3 different images to the contest system in the time between January 11th and February 2nd February 9th 2011. To use the contest system please register with the site!

For the time the contest is running you’ll find a link to the details page and the submissions page on the right side above the “Random tutorials”! We hope you like the contest, and if you have an any suggestions or need help please let us know in the comments section belowo or on the contests page.

Currently the contest is just for fun but winners will be determined by a public voting after the contest has ended. However we don’t have prizes at the moment, sorry for that. If you know potential sponsors please let us know via team@gimpusers.com.

We hope many of you participate in the contest and you have a good time when using GIMP ;)

In the time of the submissions period you’ll be not able to see splash screens of other users. After that the same page shows all submitted entries. The upload system can be find here: http://www.gimpusers.com/contests/6/submissions

we've made a seperate contest-system for the uploads, because we need the .xcfbz2 GIMP workspace file and a description too.
